91 new build student homes are to be made available in Plymouth
thanks to a £2.5million investment programme by Signpost
Homes. The 5 new build schemes will all be located close
to the University of Plymouth Campus.
Valletort House and Emmanuel House are self-contained
studio apartments that are already fully let and provide
36 students with self contained studio apartments. The studios
are ideal for living and studying - providing a fully furnished
and equipped lounge / study bedroom with fully fitted kitchens
and en-suite shower rooms. Many reservations have already
been taken for the September 2001 intake with most students
deciding to stay on in the comfortable studios.
Steven Travé, Divisional Director
of Signpost Homes said, "We are gradually expanding
into the quality end of the student housing market throughout
the South West and I am particularly pleased that we have
been able to secure this very well located and specified
accommodation. We have worked closely with the local developers
to ensure that we meet the aspirations of our residents
in providing
competitively priced, well specified homes within a comfortable
and secure living environment. We are looking for more well
located student housing schemes and expect to announce further
acquisitions in Plymouth and other University cities and
towns over the next few months."
Signpost Homes are starting on site this
summer with the rest of the 91 studio and cluster apartments
working with local Plymouth contractors. These will be ready
for occupation in time for the September 2002 intake and
will be located in Camden Street and Hastings Street within
easy reach of the campus and all Plymouth City amenities.
